Local leadership is at the heart of our mission. The communities we work with sit in the driving seat of opportunity creation, working together through Euroza Community Leadership Boards. Our Boards comprise key local stakeholders with the shared ambition to tackle the challenge of rural youth poverty in their communities.
Community Leadership Boards work hand in hand with our experienced team of local youth workers from the Euroza Zambia Office to create an action plan for developing community social enterprise projects that can sustainably support youth work, sports programs, civic education, talent workshops, and community impact projects for decades to come.
Under the stewardship of the Euroza Zambia Leadership Board, our team has already established a youth sports league with 8 football (soccer) and netball teams competing from across Monze District in an Annual Championship. The team has also established youth agriculture projects for training on climate-resilient permaculture in each of our four pilot communities. This works in conjunction with vocational skills training (for example aquaculture training) to prepare our participant groups for the creation and launch of village-level social enterprises.
